Does Viagra Work For Women?
Yes, Viagra may work for some women, but not all. Viagra is effectively used by men as a treatment for erectile dysfunction. The main job of Viagra, which made this little blue pill popular all over the world, is to help men with ED get and maintain firm erections for sexual intercourse. Interestingly, a new study funded by Pfizer (Viagra manufacturer) shows that Viagra may actually play role in treating female sexual dysfunction. But not for all women; Viagra was found effective in treating sexual side effects of antidepressants in women taking these drugs. About 70% of women taking antidepressant medications suffer from some type of sexual dysfunction as a side effect.
98 women were involved in the study, which was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. All of those women experienced sexual dysfunction as a side effect of antidepressants. 72 percent of the women involved in the study, who took Viagra pills, reported improvements in their sexual functions. The most significant gain those women have reported was improved ability to reach satisfactory orgasms. Other improvements included enhanced sexual arousal, enjoyment and desire.
Viagra may help improve the sexual ability and treat sexual dysfunction cased by antidepressants in women, but all other studies and researches made/funded by Pfizer didn’t conclude any remarkable effects of Viagra on women in general.
Anyway, if new studies can prove that Viagra also works for women, I think Pfizer will have to change the color of the pill. Maybe it should become the half blue, half pink pill! In fact, you can save yourself some money if you buy 100 mg tablets and cut them in half; you take the blue half and your wife takes the pink one, and then enjoy fireworks in bed. JK! ![]()
